A sketch I did a few weeks ago of the Maynard Block on North High Street, Columbus. Located in this block is an old local haunt, Dick’s Den – Why Not?, a real dive. If you attended OSU then you probably know of it. Don’t expect cloth napkins here. You will, though, get an eclectic mix of really good Jazz and Bluegrass music.
iPhone images are typically quick grab shots. Unlike my camera, I usually have it with me. What you see is more important than the tool you use to capture an image. These images were taken over a several year period.

Storm Brewing in Northeast Ohio
A photo I took in the late 1990’s as they were tearing down the Old Ohio State Pen. I grabbed a few shots while a portion was still standing. Prisoners from the State Pen helped construct the Ohio State House and while the architecture firm I worked for at the time was renovating the State House, they found prisoner graffiti behind interior walls. Much of the west end of the Arena District now sits on the former pen site.
